Julie Longacre grew up in Pennsylvania, and got her Bachelor of Fine Arts at Bethany College, Kansas. She lives and worked in Virginia as an artist before she settled down back in Pennsylvania. Longacre is comfortable working with different mediums such as acrylic, oil, and watercolour, as her preference depends on her desired effect. Today, Longacre lives in Port Hood, Cape Breton. Since 1998, she established her second studio.
