Elizabeth LeForte learned rug hooking from her mother at an early age and continued to expand her skills, working especially with colour. LeForte began hand-dying wool with her own colours to match her sketches. With an eye for fine detail, LeForte was skilled at replicating photographs, focusing on landscapes and portraits. LeForte was born in Point Cross, 1914, and passed away in Cheticamp, 2005.
