Lola Mould was born in Sydney, Cape Breton, in 1908. Mould studied Fine Arts and Music at Mount Allison University in New Brunswick, and also at the New England and the New York Schools of Design. For years Mould was a specialist in designing fashion and murals. Since then she has exhibited paintings around Canada and in New York. As a former Chairman of Education through Art for the Department of Education in Halifax, and as one of the founders of the Annual Art Fair for public schools in Sydney, Mould has played a large role in the promotion of art in the province.
