The burial of Jimmy Watkins, on the Watkins property in Big Brook, 1977. Jimmy Watkins was a young man who was killed in a car accident after his family, including Robert (Buzzy), Susie (now married to Mose Coady) and Jim Watkins moved to Cape Breton, from New York state. The woman on the far left might be Elizabeth May, whose family moved to Margare at about the same time. The man to her left is Jim Watkins, Jimmy’s father. Five and six from the left are Anne Morrell and Gary Morrell, eight and nine are George Rosenblatt and Nashopa Rosenblatt.

From left to right, the man in the grey beard is John May, an insurance executive from Hartford Connecticut, who ran the Sealah Breagh and Marion Elizabeth Schooner Village at the Margaree Harbour bridge from the 1970s until about 2000. The man with his hand to his chin, five from the left, is Geoff May, John’s son. To the front of Geoff and to the right is Mose Coady, to his right is Robert (Buzzy) Watkins. Jim Watkins, Jimmy’s father, is in the middle of the group of men lowering the casket into the ground. The boy in the foreground, whose back is to the camera, is Nashopa Rosenblatt.
